Northwest FPD Offers Heating Safety Tips

As we experience frigid temperatures, area firefighters are offering some common-sense heating safety tips that could help save your life. The Northwest Fire Protection District says to make sure you can keep anything that can burn at least three feet away from heating equipment, including space heaters. If you’re using a space heater, make sure you turn it off when you leave the room or go to sleep. You should never use an oven to heat your home. Finally, make sure you maintain a 3-foot kid-free zone around space heaters.
