It’s been a yet another Summer on area lakes and with are the hopes for not only great Summertime fun but fatter revenues from lake area businesses. Mike Kenagy is with the Lake West Chamber of Commerce and says even with the slow start of the season on area lakes due to cooler temps and more precipitation overall numbers were about average. He says that’s where the business smarts starts to come in…meaning area Chamber heads had to think on their toes.
Kenagy says a combination of marketing, branding and outside events brought into the Lake area continue to bring people from all over the country.
Kenagy says the key to each Summer event is to make it better than the last so visitor’s continue to come back.
Kenagy adds that the area lake Chambers focused on a community wide calendar of events which kept the Summer season hopping. As far as overall numbers as to whom visited area lakes this Kenagy said it was similar to last year’s numbers even with a cooler and wetter start to the tourism season this year.
