Another area transportation service is making changes in the wake of the Coronavirus.

Officials with OATS saying they are limiting their transportation for residents to “essential services only.”

That includes trips to dialysis, doctor appointments, grocery shopping and other immediate needs.

OATS say they’re also doubling down on disinfecting all vehicles and limiting the number of passengers per trip.

Drivers will also no longer be assisting guests with the handling of personal items, including wheelchairs and passenger bags.

The changes are in effect immediately and expected to last into April.

OATS is the only special needs and disabled transportation option in Mid-Missouri.

Recently, taxi and ride sharing groups like Uber and Lyft suspended some of their services to help stop the spread of the virus, including their carpool program.
