Fire station number two is officially dedicated in a ceremony Saturday in the Osage Beach Fire Protection District. A group gathered at the facility off of KK to dedicate the fire house in the memory of former chief Tony Schroeder who lost his life in a fire in October of 1977. Chief Jeff Dorhauer says the dedication is a solemn reminder to all of the district’s current firefighters.
The board of directors attended the dedication, thanking the staff, builders, engineers, and taxpayers for helping to complete the project which has been on the table since 2001. Chief Dorhauer says taxpayers will be glad to know the building was under budget.
The building is also LEED certified, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
