An Oklahoma man has been arrested in Rolla for running a scam, and Rolla Police think he may have been running the same game in cities all over area. The Police received complaints from a number of Rolla businesses that a man in a fast food worker’s uniform would rush into their store and ask to exchange several rolls of rolled dimes for bills. After he left, the employees discovered the rolls were filled with pennies, instead of dimes. Based on a description of the man and his car, officers picked up 30 year old Kory Whatley. He’s been charged with nine counts of stealing and is being held in the Phelps County Jail in lieu of a 20-thousand dollar bond.
