It’s the newest major development story in the lake area, the lodge at old Kinderhook. On Wednesday the famous golf course and restaurant announced the addition of a brand new 84 room lodge that will serve the Camdenton area with luxury and style. Bob Ranken is the executive director of Old Kinderhook and he says this project has been a long time in the making
Ranken says they started working on the idea to build the lodge as a separate but connected project to the existing golf course and restaurant
Ranken says one of the ideas of the project is to have the lake’s only ice skating rink, something he feels will help bring in visitors during the winter months
There will be 84 units that Ranken says are mixed between doubles, singles and suites with excellent views
Ranken says they’re building it adjacent to the current Trophy room restaurant but will be adding a unique coffee bar
Ranken says the plan has taken him 3 years to design but one element still remains to be figured out and that is where exactly they place the stone fireplace
Ranken says the project will be built adjacent to the existing trophy room with high caliber landscaping, indoor pool, the lake’s only ice skating rink and expanded spa services to better serve guests who come to visit this facility. He believes that if everything stays going as planned that the Lodge should be open by the end of 2014.
