The building belonging to the Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District has sold on Route TT. This was the old Station 2 building. The district sold the property to Comfort Zone Air Conditioning & Heating LLC and they will renovate and fix the building up to code, which has mold issues. Comfort Zone purchased the property for $55,000, with the SBFPD to pay all closing costs in the transaction. The district says full disclosure was made regarding the building’s mold issues. Firefighters were moved out of the building’s living quarters in February, 2010 when the building was deemed unsafe because of the mold. Equipment and apparatus remained housed there until the new Station 2 was completed up the road. The paid duty crew of firefighters temporarily relocated to Station 1 on Highway 5 until they were able to move into the new building earlier this year.
