One person is dead after an early-morning fire in Morgan County. Gravois Fire Chief Ed Hancock says personnel were dispatched shortly after 3:00 Friday morning to 2900 Hwy-RA and, upon arrival, discovered the mobile home fully involved which had also started a small natural cover fire. The blaze was quickly brought under control and information was received that the home was, apparently, occupied at the time which started an extensive search for a possible victim.
Chief Hancock goes on to say a pet dog also perished in the fire and, due to the damage, a likely cause may never be determined. At the current time, the victim’s name is not officially being released. Also assisting at the scene was the Sunrise Beach Fire District.
