One Dead, Two Others Injured in Head-On Collision Near Greenview

Improper passing on a hill and along a curve on Highway-5 is blamed for a head-on collision killing one and injuring two others in Camden County.

The highway patrol says it happened Sunday afternoon, just south of Greenview. The car driven by 44-year-old Samuel Burrell, of Oregon, crossed over the center striking a pickup driven by 22-year-old Jordan Rabenold, of Osage Beach.

Burrell was pronounced dead at the scene while Rabenold was seriously hurt and taken to Lake Regional. A passenger in the pickup driven by Rabenold, 57-year-old James Rabenold also from Osage Beach, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Lake Regional as well.

The Rabenold’s were both wearing seat belts while it’s unknown whether or not Burrell was wearing one at the time.
