One Person Dies And Numerous Others Injured In Weekend Boat Crashes

Numerous boat accidents over the weekend sent several people to the hospital and resulted in the death of one woman.

42-year-old Dawn Steinkuhler from the High Ridge area was killed when the 2005 Formula she was riding in was struck by a 1995 Sea Ray driven by 52-year-old John Bennett of New Haven, who’s now facing numerous BWI charges.

The patrol’s reporting site shows in total, 8 people were transferred to Lake Regional while two others were flown to University Hospital in Columbia for serious injuries.

Three out of the 10 people injured were children ages 13, 12 and 10.
