One person is in custody after a bomb scare in Camdenton. Police responded to Sleep Inn just before 1:30 Thursday afternoon to assist staff there in an issue with a tenant. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a male suspect and observed narcotics, weapons, and what appeared to be an explosive device. That’s according to a press release issued by Chief Laura Wright. Officers evacuated the building and parking lot while the Missouri Highway Patrol bomb squad was able to secure the device and safely remove the suspicious item. The investigation is ongoing.
