Shoppers in Osage Beach are a step closer to being able to save some money when it’s time to send kids back to school. The Board of Aldermen passed first reading of an ordinance to participate in the statewide “Back to School Sales Tax Holiday.” In the past, the city has opted out of exempting certain items from local sales taxes. The sales tax holiday is the first weekend in August and includes several items ranging from clothes to computers. During Thursday’s meeting, the board also gave final approval to a trio of upgrades at Peanick Park. They’ll be putting in a new basketball court, pavilion and dugouts for the lower ball field.
