The city of Osage Beach will be applying for land and water conservation fund grants. A motion to apply for the funds was approved during last night’s board of alderman meeting. The funds would be used for new playground equipment, additional picnic shelters and/or new bathrooms at Peanick Park. The maximum amount of funding that can be awarded is $75,000. In other business from last night’s meeting, the board authorized a construction contract for the Grand Glaize airport parking lot and seal coating for just under $12,000, approved participation in Missouri’s Highway safety program and tabled a request to have retail strategies come and make a presentation. The city developer will be contacting other cities represented by them to find out if they’re satisfied with their services.
