The Osage Beach Board of Aldermen will hold second readings on a number of ordinances at their meeting tomorrow night. One of them changes their rules regulating pawnshops in the city. The proposal would replace their existing code with a new section updating several of the guidelines. Some of those changes include:
- Allowing a pawn shop to also serve as a residence
- Adding a requirement for photographic records for pledged property
- Requiring pawnbrokers to deliver all new pawn tickets to the police on a monthly basis
The new code section maintains state laws while also crafting more specific regulations to fit the city’s needs. Thursday’s meeting begins at 6pm.
