In-town deer hunts get underway this weekend in Osage Beach, Camdenton and Village of Four Seasons. Bow-and- arrow hunting for whitetail deer will be allowed, provided hunters follow a strict set of rules unique to each jurisdiction. In Osage Beach, the City will again be allowing archers to hunt by permit-only, at the Hatchery Road Park, until 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The park will be closed to the public until 4:30 p.m. next Monday thru Friday because it’ll be used for statwide police K-9 training. Osage Beach city officials say the hunt, now in its fourth year, became necessary after the deer population grew so large that the animals became a traffic hazard.
