Osage Beach is among a number of communities in Camden County considering a prescription drug monitoring program. City Administrator Jeana Woods says they need to do their research before making any decisions.
Woods says the board of aldermen needs to consider the balance between the program’s objectives and privacy rights. The Camden County Health Department is trying to get all municipalities signed on for the program administered out of St. Louis County. Miller County already participates. The overall goal of the program is to reduce misuse and abuse of prescription meds.
