As you drive down Osage Beach Parkway you notice that the Osage Beach city park remains closed. During a major rainstorm in August, one of the dams broke which caused flooding to occur throughout the park area and damage to the parking lots as well as other structures. Assistant City Administrator Jeana Woods says they’re in a waiting period at this point
Woods says now that the President has approved the Governor’s declaration request, they can start moving forward
Until they are able to reopen the park, Woods is recommending you visit the city’s other park
Both parks are located off HWY 42. The city is anticipating reopening the city park sometime next spring. Once FEMA and Insurance representatives finish their work and the money is sent in, the city will get working on the project and baring any unforeseen weather situations between now and next spring the park should be back to normal.
