Residents in Osage Beach will be able to celebrate the holidays in a way they couldn’t before if an ordinance before the Board of Aldermen passes. The city is considering changing their codes to allow the sale and use of fireworks within city limits. The current plan would allow for both commercial and private displays with the proper permits. The new ordinances also designate which parts of the city fireworks can be sold in. One key provision prohibits the launch or detonation of fireworks from any multi-family dwelling. You have to own the land you launch from or have the landowner’s permission before setting off your fireworks. The days and time periods for allowable usage are also limited under the current draft.
