The city of Osage Beach is still working on plans to improve tourism on the west end of the Parkway. After a special meeting this week with the Citizens Advisory Committee, it was determined that all they can do at this point is encouraging businesses to host events and create commerce at full steam ahead. The committee is considering an event at the Grand Glaize Airport as well as plans for the Parkway to be a catalyst for events. Other ideas that were suggested include improving GPS mapping, road signs, and a video of Osage Beach to promote the city on TV or at area boat shows. The city has approved a Veterans Parade this coming November which they will shut down the Parkway for tourists to watch the event.
