A donation for the Fire Fighter Combat Challenge for this year squeaked passed the Osage Beach Board of Aldermen Tuesday night. The issue wasn’t whether they should donate or not, but the amount that they should donate. Originally, the bill proposed a donation of $2,500, but Alderman Jeff Bethurem proposed they amend it to the same amount they donated last year, $1,000. He wanted to do this so that if other organizations came forward during the year, they would have enough to evenly disperse the $10,000 they have set aside for such things. The amendment passed after a 3-3 tie was broken by Mayor John Olivarri, then the 1st and 2nd readings were both passed by a vote of 4-2.
