Osage Beach is looking to capitalize on their marketability to attract new businesses to the area. The Board of Aldermen last week heard a proposal from the Buxton Company, who provides market assessments based on mobile analytics. City Administrator Jeana Woods says the goal is to put the city in the best position to appeal to retail businesses.
Buxton uses mobile data and other information to formulate lists of the businesses best suited to the market, which the city can then use to try to attract the businesses here. They’ve worked with several major cities and retailers and are among the leading businesses in the industry nationwide. Woods says the city will benefit from the data in other planning areas far beyond just the retail needs.
No decision has been made yet on the plan, but it could likely come soon as the city prepares to enter their budget planning cycle.
