The city of Osage Beach is taking a deeper look at ways they deal with contractors and other businesses. The overall goal is to update their guidelines dealing with licenses and required fees. One of the ways they hope to do that is to change some of their definitions to more clearly identify which businesses are considered contractors, as opposed to just services or businesses. Those definitions determine which licensing guidelines the businesses have to follow. The revamp will include an increase in the minimum insurance requirements for contractors. That currently stands at $300,000 liability. The city’s looking to raise that to a $1 million minimum, which is considered standard practice in most applications.
