The Osage beach police department responded to rolling meth lab that exploded and caught fire. Police received reports yesterday that a Dodge stratus was driving erratically near O’Reilly automotive and then struck a guard rail at which time the occupants exited the vehicle. One of the male occupants then jumped back in the car and guided it into Dugan’s paints parking lot at which time the car was on fire. The driver then abandoned the vehicle and ran across the Wal-Mart parking lot where he was apprehended by police. The driver, a 39 year old Osage Beach resident was treated at the scene and transported to lake regional hospital and then to Springfield hospital for burns sustained in the incident. The other two occupants were located inside Wal-Mart. 20 year old Joshua Healey was arrested for probation violation out of Warren County. Both he and a 20 year old female from Osage Beach were taken to lake regional hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A ten year old girl was placed into division of family services custody until a family member could be located. Police say the vehicle fire was determined to be caused by a “shake and bake” meth lab that was being held by the driver at the time it exploded.
