It may be one of the best kept secrets for those who enjoy bow hunting here in the Lake Area and, in particular, Osage Beach. The city offers a managed deer hunt which is now underway and, according to Parks and Recreation Manager Matt Vandevoort, continues through January 15th.
Crossbows are not allowed and hunters are required to have a no-cost permit issued by the city and a parking pass, per property, to take part in the managed hunt. Landowners within the city can also request that their properties be included in the program.
