Osage Beach residents will NOT be voting on a use tax when they head to the polls in November. A proposal to place a 2% tax on out-of-state purchases on the ballot died at Thursday night’s Board of Aldermen meeting when no one made a motion for consideration. The board did vote on first reading of a burn ban. The bill outlaws any burning of trash within city limits and requires a burn permit for other open burning. It passed unanimously and will be up for a second and final reading at the next board meeting later this month.
