An Osage Beach resident wants to start an initiative to get people reading more. Based upon a website called www.littlefreelibrary.org, Susan Collier presented the Board of Aldermen with an idea Thursday night to start a book exchange along the sidewalk on Passover Road. She says, with all of the condos nearby, the foot traffic is fairly heavy in the area and she believes the idea would benefit not only residents but tourists, as well. The concept is that people would take a book and, when finished, they would return it. No library card would be needed and if people forget or just decide not to return the book, Collier says they would just replace it with no issues. Mayor John Olivarri told Collier the library was looking at doing the exact same thing and he wants her to help them implement the plan. As of right now, no concrete plans have been made.
