Legislation allowing cell phone towers to be placed within city limits is being opposed by the city of Osage Beach. Alderman Fred Catcott says abandonment is one of the many concerns the city has with this legislation.
Catcott says there are other reasons for opposing this legislation including public safety as a potential future danger could be a tower falling down. Osage Beach Mayor Penny Lyons is also leading the charge in opposition to the proposed legislation. Previously a bill introduced by Representative Rocky Miller attempted to correct all these issues for the entire state but the bill was hijacked in the senate and wound up being nothing like it was when the city had approved it previously.
