Members of the Osage Beach Search and Resue team are returning to Joplin. Chief Jeff Dorhauer of the Osage Beach Fire Protection District says “We were contacted by the search and rescue team out of St. Louis who were being re-deployed for a specific in Joplin, and we’re being re-deployed with them, as our Command Trailer for search and rescue has the ability to track via radio and computers, through GPS, positioning of all the responders, which proved very valuable last week when they were deployed.” Twelve members of the unit spent three days in Joplin last week, immediately after the tornado hit. This week, Dorhauer says, “since it’s really the Command Trailer they’re looking for,” the unit has been deployed with Osage Beach SAR team members Shelley Dougan and Jason Allen, who are expected to remain in Joplin until Friday.
