Shoppers in Osage Beach may be able to save some money when it’s time to send their kids back to school. The Board of Aldermen has directed the administration to draft an ordinance that would allow the city to participate in the annual statewide “Back to School Sales Tax Holiday.”
Alderman Greg Massey says some of the revenue lost to on exempt items will likely be made up with shoppers buying food and other items during their time in the city.
The board is expected to vote on the proposal at their May 16th meeting. The sales tax holiday is the first weekend in August.
