Osage Beach Warns Of Spam E-Mail Coming From City Offices

An unusual email from the City of Osage Beach is raising some eyebrows in the Lake Area.

City Administrator Jeana Woods tells KRMS News an email that looks like it was sent from Tara Berreth, is not a valid email.

One clue is the false phone number that appears near the bottom of the email, which is one digit off from the actual phone number.

Another clue is what appears in the subject line of the email.

If you see the words ‘Invoice reconcile,’ it is advised you delete the email and do not open it.

Woods says it is not the first time Osage Beach has dealt with this kind of activity and she says it probably won’t be the last.
