Officials from School of the Osage are taking a step back to review district procedures after ordering a lockdown of the main campus Monday afternoon. Superintendent Doctor Brent Depree says the lockdown went according to plans but, due to the timing just a few minutes before classes were to be dismissed, there were a couple of issues that need to be looked into.
There were three buses that would have dropped kids off in the proximity of the manhunt…those kids and the buses were kept at the Upper Elementary until parents could come pick up their children. Letters explaining procedure are being sent out to the parents who were affected and any feedback from those parents is more than welcome by contacting the district’s central office.
