The Osage County Sheriff Michael Dixon says he’s not stepping down and has filed for an appeal as allowed by law. Earlier this week the Missouri Department of Public Safety revoked his peace officer’s license after he pled guilty to charges in a case of harassment with a Belle police officer. Following that, the County commission elected to request him to step down and threatened that they would attempt to have him removed if he did not. Because Dixon does not have his license, he cannot do anything with policing in the state. He will have a hearing in Cole county on Friday at 2pm.
