After many years of struggling to get the city of Laurie to adopt their streets, members of the Ozark Meadows subdivision heard the Laurie board of alderman approve the drafting of an ordinance to do so. At this week’s board meeting Mayor Scott Fahrer moved the adoption forward by casting the tie breaking vote. The ordinance will be voted on during the December 8th board meeting. In other business, the mayor reported on a transportation advisory council meeting he recently attended. Fahrer says the city is high on the list to receive federal grant fund for its sidewalk project and believes the city will likely receive it which would pay 80 percent of the total cost.
