The annual paddlefish season at the Lake of the Ozarks gets underway Tuesday (15). Anglers will be lining up hoping to snag one of the big fish that are also known as Spoonbill, which have a distinct nose and can weigh up to 160 pounds. Local Outdoorsman Bill Cassidy, host of Fishing the Ozarks on KRMS says anglers can catch them by the dam but it’s more fun to do so from a boat.
Anglers are allowed to snag two paddlefish per day if they are more than 34 inches long. Paddlefish season at the Lake of the Ozarks runs through April 30th.
