The vice president of Paul’s Supermarket will testify today in front of a House committee about how Obamacare is affecting the company. Steven Hermann will give his testimony before the House Small Business Subcommittee on Health and Technology. The hearing is titled The Effects of the Health Law’s Definition of Full-Time Employee on Small Businesses. Hermann will discuss the increased costs and fewer employee hours associated with Obamacare, which requires businesses with 50 or more full-time employees to provide health-care coverage or pay a penalty. Paul’s Supermarket was founded in 1968 and has three stores employing nearly 200 full-time and part-time employees in Eldon, Osage Beach, and Lake Ozark.
