It’s a pay raise for Gravois fire protection district employees. The Board of Trustees approved, in a closed session meeting Monday to give all fire fighters and their Administrative Assistant Jodie Hunsacker and two percent raise. The district based their annual raise increase on the 2014 cost of living index which is 1.7. The board agreed to round it off at two percent. The board also approved Hunsaker’s annual employee agreement. GFPD fire chief Ed Hancock says it was the best they could do for now.
Hancock says he is glad about the employee pay raise but reminds those in the community that the firefighters whom he calls criticle assets still need equipment and fire fighting apparatus needs. He says the district has squeezed as much as they can for station needs.
