A collection of data gathered through prescription drug monitoring programs shows that Camden County is far below the state average for dispensation of opioids. The PDMP program administered through St. Louis County issued their annual report using combined data from the cities of Osage Beach and Camdenton. The report shows that there were just over 291 pills dispensed for every 1,000 people over the last year. That’s far below the total monitored across the entire system, which stood at over 658 per 1,000 people. Hydrocodone, oxycodone, and tramadol were the three most frequently prescribed opioids. Residents over the age of 65 received the highest rates of opioids across all age groups in the county.
