In what was initially an uncontested election for Camden County first district commissioner Bev Thomas, there is a new challenger who is coming to the race late in the game. Tom Pedrola who self identifies as an Independent party candidate in the November election will be running against Thomas in this election for her seat in November. This news that Pedrola wants to run is not new. He had announced his intention to run after the filing period earlier in the year. The process that he had to encounter since he decided to run after the candidate filing period was to submit a petition to the Camden County clerk’s office. The petition was to have no less than 180 registered voter’s signatures on the petition. The clerk’s office then had to check, verify and confirm that all signatures were legitimate and then the office accepted the petition.
