For the second time this school year, officials with the Morgan County R-2 school district have had to investigate a perceived threat of possible violence against their schools. Superintendent Dr. Joyce Ryerson released a statement Sunday regarding their investigation into a social media posting from a former student. Ryerson said the individual in question had not been a student on their campus since 2007. An online posting from him expressed anger over what the Superintendent termed “perceived past slights.” Law enforcement agencies were contacted and were able to track the individual down. Officers say they are confident the former student had no violent intent and that no credible threat exists.
