The state is still preparing for the start of medical marijuana sales, and now there’s a push to expand the use of the drug across Missouri. A petition drive is underway that would place a measure on the ballot to legalize recreational use for adults. The initiative dictates that marijuana sales would be taxed at 15%, with revenues split between services for veterans, road and bridge repair, and drug addiction treatment. It would also expunge criminal records for some marijuana-related offenses. Backers of the plan need 160,199 verified signatures by May 3rd to get it on the ballot in November.
