A motion to file an amended petition in a lawsuit against AmerenMissouriby the mother of two children electrocuted at theLake of the Ozarks has been denied. Angela Anderson of Ashland Missouri has argued that the liability should be assumed by Ameren because of charging a dock fee. Ameren stated that the fee is only for placement of the dock on their property, and the dock itself is the private property of the owner. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, there was an improper grounded electrical circuit to the dock, which was a contributing factor in their deaths. Alexandra Anderson, 13, and Brayden Anderson, 8, died while swimming around a dock in Gravois Mills in 2012.
