Pettis county deputies will soon undergo additional training following the shooting death of 25-year-old Hannah Fizer in June.
The Sheriff’s office says all 23 deputies will now have working body cameras installed and a few of them will be attending specialized trainings this month, that focus on de-escalation techniques.
A Pettis Deputy shot and killed Fizer during a traffic stop, after claiming that she had gun and was threatening him.
A highway Patrol report showed there was no gun found in Fizer’s car and a special prosecutor in the case indicated that the deputy would not face charges in the shooting.
Fizer’s family says they will continue to push forward in finding justice for Hannah.
