Pilot error is being called the likely cause of a fatal airplane crash that killed two people back in October, 2016, near Osage Beach. The National Transportation Safety Board, Wednesday, issued its final report. The pilot and his daughter were apparently en route to Pennsylvania when they landed at Lee C. Fine Airport before taking off a few minutes later and crashing into a heavily wooded area of Lake of the Ozarks State Park. The NTSB report says it’s likely that the crash was caused by the pilot forgetting to retract the airplane’s flaps before attempting to take off again. An employee of the airport reported nothing unusual about the plane when it landed and then again when it took off before it crashed.
