The Camden County Planning and Zoning Commission continues to struggle with finding a balance between the rights of residential property owners and the need for economic development. A property that never received zoning for unknown reasons was the subject of a heated discussion at their recent meeting. There was heavy opposition during public hearing on the request made by Property Owner Gary Prewitt for a conditional use permit. The plan for the property was for it to be used as a proposed general store, outdoor dining area and a satellite parking lot to handle overflow parking from the Shady Gators Complex. A public hearing for further discussion will be held in March.
