An Iowa senator is getting involved in the drowning case of 20 year old Brandon Ellingson. Senator Chuck Grassley told Ellingson’s family that he is referring the case U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder (Who recently stepped down). Ellingson, who is from Iowa, drowned back in may while in the custody of the Highway Patrol’s Water Division. A bi-partisan group of State Representatives is also conducting an investigation of the Water Division. The committee was formed at the request of Representatives Diane Franklin, Rocky Miller and David Wood. A public hearing is scheduled for October 1st at the State Capital with a second one to be held at Osage Beach City Hall on October 14th.
