A Morgan County pastor accused of sex crimes that happened several years ago will not be back in court for about a month. At a case review on Tuesday in Moniteau County Court, the attorney for 42-year old Travis Smith requested more time to see if he has a conflict in the case. Smith is facing charges of statutory rape, statutory sodomy, forcible rape and sexual abuse from incidents that allegedly happened in 1998, 1999 and 2005. This is not the first time Smith has been accused of sex crimes. In 2011, he was acquitted of a child molestation charge by a Morgan County jury. He remains free on bond and will be back in court for another case review on March 5th. Smith is the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Stover.
