The Morgan County R-2 School District and police in Versailles spring into action Wednesday morning after a report was received about a possible gun brought on a bus. Assistant Superintendent Steve Barnes says the sequence of events started when a student informed the driver that another student, allegedly, said that he had brought a gun on the bus. The school resource officer instructed the driver to stop in town where authorities immediately boarded the bus but did not find any weapon. Barnes goes onto say that safety is a top priority of the district and, while there was not a weapon found on the bus Wednesday, anyone concerned about safety is encouraged to immediately report it so district officials and local law enforcement can respond
appropriately.
