There were apparently at least two fuel spills on the lake over the weekend. Lake Ozark Fire responded to a spill at Marine Max. Osage Beach also had a spill. Ron Tomasella has a second home in Salt Hollow Cove and says he’s not seen anything like it before.
Tomasella says he reported it to the Water Patrol and the EPA, who told him it may have been a confluence from as many as three different locations. He adds that today the water is mostly clear and that the spill, wherever it came from, appears to have dissipated.
We’ll have more information as it becomes available. Messages from KRMS to Osage Beach Fire and the EPA were not returned on Monday, presumably as a result of the holiday.
