Possible Treatment For Parkinsons At Mizzou

There may be good news on the horizon for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. A University of Missouri researcher has found a molecule that could aid in the development of drugs in treating the disease by keeping brain cells alive. According to a press release, the early stage results are encouraging and if additional studies go well the University will request permission from the federal government to begin developing the drug with the goal of eventually conducting human clinical trials.
