The state’s request to be declared a major disaster area was approved late last week. President Donald Trump made the approval last Friday for 48 Missouri counties. The declaration will allow people in those counties who were affected by the flooding in late April to receive federal assistance to repair the damage. Miller, Morgan and Camden were each one of the 48 counties declared disaster areas. Anyone affected by the flooding can register for assistance by calling FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 or going online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
